This is your chance to win $10,000, a barrel of our bourbon and the title of 2020 best bartender in Texas

Yes, you. Upon participating in this year’s Bourbon Takeover of Texas, Texas-based tastemakers will be hand-selected to compete in the 2020 Bourbon Brawl. But this time around, there will be a darkhorse in the competition, as we’re letting the “at-home” and “DIY” bartenders also compete.

They’ll all showcase their love of the Lone Star State by incorporating Garrison Brothers Small Batch bourbon into a unique concoction while battling it out with other top Texas mixologists. Starting February 17th we’re inviting you to come and experience the best the Texas bourbon and bartenders have to offer and we want Y’ALL to help us pick the winners!

Rules and Regulations

The Bourbon Takeover of Texas

The first phase of the 2020 Bourbon Brawl invites talented mixologists and bartenders to participate in Garrison Brothers’ annual celebration of all things bourbon: The Bourbon Takeover of Texas. This is a full week in which mixologists and bartenders from 15 different establishments in each of the 5 major cities across the State of Texas showcase their love of the Lone Star State by featuring cocktails that incorporate Garrison Brothers Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey.

These limited-time offerings will be available at fine restaurants and bars from Monday, February 17, through Friday, February 28th, 2020. During this period, the Garrison Brothers team will visit every participating location to taste, critique, examine and enjoy each cocktail, considering its potential for advancement to the second round of the competition. But the cocktail itself is not necessarily the key criteria for advancement; the bartender’s attitude, charm, camaraderie with customers, and concern for the well-being of their community and constituents are also factors under consideration.

The Bourbon brawl

The 5 bartenders selected from each major city will face off in the Bourbon Brawl Semi-Finals that will qualify just one from each group for the final round of competition to be held in Austin. Each market champion will represent his or her home turf in a five-round, Top Chef-style matchup to determine which bartender will take home the $10,000 prize, their very own barrel of Garrison Brothers Bourbon Whiskey, and the prestigious title of “Top Bartender in Texas”.
