Jason Ybarra

Finance, Community Builder
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this email. Like many others, I greatly enjoy Garrison Brothers and believe you produce a truly phenomenal product. To share a bit about myself, I grew up in Tennessee, in the heart of whiskey country, where I developed an appreciation for high-quality whiskey at an early age. Over the years, through friendships and professional relationships, that appreciation grew into a deep love for bourbon. My love of bourbon isn’t rooted solely in taste, quality, notes, recipes, or the differences between distilleries—it’s inspired by the camaraderie it creates. As I’ve grown in my career and expanded my relationships, one thing has remained true: bourbon brings people together and brings out the best in them. That belief is the reason I’m writing today—to nominate Jason Ybarra. I met Jason roughly five years ago through a mutual connection. Jason is a true Texan—born and raised in Dallas and a second-generation descendant of an immigrant family. He is a living example of the American dream. Despite facing significant hardships throughout his life, Jason maintained an unmatched work ethic and focus. His drive for success was never self-centered; it has always been rooted in caring for those around him. Today, Jason is a small business owner in Dallas, Texas, and is deeply involved in his community, church, and philanthropic efforts. He gives to those in need on a daily basis and has dedicated his life to creating opportunities not only for his family, but also for his employees. There have been times when Jason paid others before himself, even when it meant going without. He has provided people with healthcare, food, shelter, and stability. He is genuinely the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Jason is also a devoted father and a proud supporter of our country. He is the father of a son who served in the United States military. Jason fully supported and encouraged his son’s decision to serve, standing behind him every step of the way with pride, sacrifice, and unwavering support. Beyond his personal contributions, Jason has organized and hosted some of the largest charity events in Dallas, bringing together influential leaders and high-profile individuals—including Mark Cuban and many others—to provide them with a meaningful platform to give back to Texas communities. Through these events, Jason has united business leaders, philanthropists, and community members to create real, lasting impact across the state. Jason’s commitment to service is shared by his wife, Jessia. In 2017, Jason and Jessia were formally recognized and awarded for their leadership and development efforts in organizing Cuisine for a Cure in Dallas, Texas—an event that exemplified their dedication to community impact, charitable leadership, and bringing people together for a greater cause. Jason also places a strong emphasis on education and the importance of creating learning opportunities for the next generation. He has helped develop multiple scholarship funds and actively works to provide youth with access to education they might not otherwise have. Drawing from his background in finance, Jason regularly shares his knowledge with young people—teaching financial literacy, responsibility, and long-term planning—so they are better equipped to build successful and sustainable futures. In addition, Jason has built programs that sponsor and mentor small business owners across Texas—providing access to legal guidance, accounting support, and essential resources that many entrepreneurs cannot otherwise afford. He leads and mentors youth through sponsorships, church programs, and community initiatives. Jason goes into some of the most challenging areas in Texas and brings light, hope, and dignity to everyone he encounters, regardless of their circumstances. I know these things not because I’ve simply heard about them, but because Jason has done many of them directly for me. Jason is also the person who introduced me to Garrison Brothers, which led to my love for your bourbon. In everything he does, Jason loves the state of Texas and remains fiercely loyal—even when it comes to his bourbon. My own appreciation for Garrison Brothers, and the countless bottles shared with clients and friends since, stems directly from Jason Ybarra. He may be one of your greatest marketing ambassadors without even realizing it. When I came to purchase my own Celebratory Edition bottle and saw the opportunity to nominate someone, I immediately knew there could be no better choice than Jason. I understand you will receive many outstanding nominations, but my request is simple: if you wish to recognize someone who has given his life to the Texas community, embodied the American dream, raised a family rooted in service, invested in education, provided for those in need, and led with humility while expecting nothing in return, I ask that you consider Jason Ybarra. My life—and the lives of many others—has been profoundly impacted by the grace with which Jason lives. He loves your bourbon, he loves sharing it, and I truly hope he receives even a small portion of that appreciation in return. Thank you again for your time and for reading this nomination. And thank you to Garrison Brothers for not only creating an exceptional product, but for providing an opportunity to recognize a true leader, patriot, hero, and friend. Have a wonderful and blessed day. Warm regards, Austin Newsom
