Garrison Brothers and Truluck’s Team Up To Preserve Balmorhea Pool

Proceeds from bourbon-paired dinner series will rebuild, beautify and preserve West Texas treasure

AUSTIN, TEXAS July 6, 2018 —Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first legal bourbon whiskey distillery in Texas, announced today its partnership with Truluck’s Seafood, Steak and Crab House locations across Texas to host a series of bourbon dinners benefitting West Texas’ treasured Balmorhea State Park. Each of the four-course dinners will feature Garrison Brothers’ award-winning small-batch bourbon paired with chef-selected dishes.

Before closing indefinitely in May 2018, Balmorhea State Park and its iconic spring-fed pool brought joy to generations of residents and visitors alike for nearly 50 years, since it opened in 1935.When Garrison Brothers and Truluck’s learned of the state park’s unfortunate closure, both Texas-born companies resolved to do something about it. After a highly successful series of fundraising pool parties called Balmorhea Blue, Garrison Brothers connected with Truluck’s to make an impact in the way that they both know best: a delicious, unique bourbon pairing dinner.

“My wife and I have been dining at Truluck’s for years, but now that I’ve met the owners and their talented management team and witnessed their dedication to philanthropy firsthand, I’m even more impressed,” said Dan Garrison, founder of Garrison Brothers Distillery. “Good bourbon, delicious seafood, and a worthwhile cause. It’s a great partnership.”

The bourbon dinners will take place at Truluck’s locations inAustin (Arboretum),Austin (Downtown),Dallas, Houston, Southlake, and The Woodlands. Each of the dinners will include an exclusive cocktail reception where patrons can enjoy a bourbon tasting while they meet the people behind Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Dan Garrison will be at the first three events.“We are elated to be working with Garrison Brothers, both as a customer and a partner in helping preserve Balmorhea State Park,” said Dave Tripoli, Chief Operating Officer at Truluck’s. “Not only are both our guests and staff Garrison Brothers devotees, but we also share their Texas heritage and deeply held commitment to giving back.
