Garrison Brothers Distillery to Raise Funds for Admiral Nimitz Foundation

‘Red, White, and Bourbon’ celebrates Veterans Day with Local Wineries, WWII Tanks, and Bourbon Bottle Wax Dipping

AUSTIN, TEXAS  (October 7th, 2019) — Garrison Brothers Distillery announced today the 2019 edition of Red, White, and Bourbon, a collaborative event aimed at raising funds for the Admiral Nimitz Foundation. The Admiral Nimitz Foundation was established in 1971 as a 501(c)(3) that provides development funding for the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, a museum dedicated to telling the human story of WWII in the Pacific. Since 1971, the Foundation has built a well-established and respected institution, which annually welcomes more than 100,000 visitors, including 15,000 middle and high school students from across the state.

To observe Veterans Day and to honor those who have served, Garrison Brothers will partner with several neighboring businesses for a day-long celebration on Saturday, November 9. Distillery regular Mike Walsh will trumpet Reveille to kick off the event at 11 a.m. and blow Taps at 4 p.m. to conclude the event.

“The National Museum of the Pacific War is a Texas treasure. We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a distinguished neighbor in our sister city of Fredericksburg,” said Dan Garrison, founder and proprietor of Garrison Brothers Distillery. “We’re excited to partner with Mercedes Benz of Boerne and Family Business Beer Co. to present Red, White, and Bourbon. They share our passion for honoring and appreciating those who have served.”

The event will take place at Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas, on Saturday, November 9, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Guests can enjoy bourbon, barrel-aged craft beer from Family Business Beer Co., hamburgers from Fischer & Weiser, cold drinks from Coca Cola, and a variety of red, white, and rosé wines from William Chris Vineyards, Cicada Cellars, Calais Winery, and Hye Meadow Winery. 100% of sales of beer, wine, and food will go directly to the Admiral Nimitz Foundation. Habana Cowboy will also be on site with a mobile cigar lounge. Garrison Brothers would like to thank this year’s Red, White, and Bourbon sponsors – Tecovas, Mercedes of Boerne, and HEB.

Patrons can dip their own red, white, and blue wax bottles at the gift shop and a portion of proceeds from the sale of each bottle will also be donated to the Admiral Nimitz Foundation. The museum will also have living history displays set up showcasing WWII weapons and equipment.

Only 800 tickets are available (600 online, 200 at the distillery) and are priced as follows:

•$20 for adults
•$10 for kids (ages 3 to 12)
•$10 for Admiral Nimitz Foundation members
•$5 for veterans

“Many generations of my family have served in the United States Navy. I did not, and I have always felt a little bit guilty for it. So this event is a personal triumph for me,” said Garrison.

Veterans Day is not the only time of the year that Garrison Brothers supports veteran organizations. As part of an ongoing partnership with Team Rubicon, a non-profit veteran service organization that uses disaster response to help assimilate veterans back into civilian life

ABOUT GARRISON BROTHERS DISTILLERY
Garrison Brothers Distillery is a small farm and ranch located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country that authentically produces straight bourbon whiskey. Garrison Brothers introduced the first bourbon whiskey legally made in Texas in 2010 and has since developed a rabid fan base. They currently have a waitlist of more than 15,000 just to volunteer on bottling days, and their Cowboy Bourbon™ normally sells out within hours of its release. Garrison Brothers is the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas history and is one of the first distilleries in America outside of Kentucky to produce authentic, handmade bourbon whiskey and only bourbon whiskey. The business was founded in 2006.

Every expression of Garrison Brothers bourbon is made from a sweet mash bill and barrel-aged in the intense Texas climate. The extreme heat creates multiple aging seasons in a year, resulting in a darker, richer, and fuller bourbon; bolder than almost any other bourbon on the market.

At the American Craft Spirit Awards in 2018, the Garrison Brothers team was awarded a gold medal for its Single Barrel Bourbon, a silver medal for its 2016 Small Batch Bourbon, and another silver for its Balmorhea Twice Barreled Bourbon. Garrison Brothers was voted Best Craft Whiskey Distillery in America by readers of USA Today in 2017.

Garrison Brothers is a proud and active member of the communities of Blanco, Fredericksburg, Hye, Johnson City, and Stonewall. The distillery and its barrel barns are open to the public for tours in Hye, Texas.
