The Bourbon Brotherhood is a force of positive change in the world. Here, we encourage legendary, courteous and thoughtful behavior. As part of the Bourbon Brotherhood, we created custom Garrison Brothers Challenge Coins. The enclosed coin is a symbol of respect and power. The challenge is to go forth and do good in the world. If someone gives you a coin, it means they respect you for something you have done. It is their responsibility to tell you so as they give you the coin. But the power of the coin extends beyond its gift nature. Receipt of the coin means you have been invited to join an elite brotherhood – bourbon drinkers who have their own code:

COPPER

It doesn’t take much to earn a copper coin. If a Garrison Brothers coin holder shares stories with you at a bar or buys you a drink, leading to a conversation, you might receive a copper coin. Demonstrating courteous behavior and showing respect for others, as everyone should do every day anyway, are the keys to being offered a copper coin. Oh, and being nice goes a long way.

STEEL

Obtaining a steel coin requires a legendary act of kindness, for example:

• Pulling over on the side of the road to help someone change a tire
• Buying lunch for the people behind you in line at the cafeteria
• Buying drinks at the bar
• Helping a busy mother or grandmother carry some groceries

GOLD

Gold coins don’t come easily. They require true acts of personal sacrifice. Having a gold coin means someone within the Brotherhood observed you exhibiting remarkably brave human behavior:

• Helping someone else’s kid go to college
• Serving as a Big Brother or Big Sister
• Speaking out publicly against scandal or corruption
• Using your business as a vehicle for a purely altruistic, philanthropic deed
• Giving up time to for a charity like Habitat for Humanity

In order to receive your gold coin, a member of The Brotherhood will have to reach out to a Garrison Brothers employee and tell your story. Then they will receive a coin that they can give to you and tell you why. If you receive a gold challenge coin, your story will become part of the GB Book of Legendary Stories. It will be recorded, documented and published. For the good of mankind, your story must be told.
