Dan and Nancy Garrison Present Each Fire Department a Donation Check from June 21st Event
HYE, TX (August 21, 2025) – Yesterday, Garrison Brothers Co-founders, Dan and Nancy Garrison presented donation checks totaling just over $137,000 to local volunteer fire departments from Johnson City and Stonewall. The funds raised at this year’s Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, an annual distillery event held in June, were divided evenly between the two firehouses.
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner is an historic annual fundraiser held at Garrison Brothers Distillery that takes place following the Stonewall Peach Jamboree Parade. This year, over 500 community members and families attended to enjoy fried chicken dinner, whiskey cocktails, live music, and a celebration of the Texas Hill Country. Garrison Brothers’ Master Distiller Donnis Todd also included four exclusive cask strength single barrels of HoneyDew Bourbon—available for purchase at the event to help raise funds. In addition to the special single barrel bourbon selections, fundraising activities included a raffle, silent auction, and a live auction.
“Johnson City and Stonewall Volunteer Fire Departments come help us in our little town of Hye, Texas when called on and we are all one tight knit community. It is an honor to donate funds raised from this year’s Winner Winner Chicken Dinner to these fire departments of brave men and women that help keep us all safe,” shares Nancy Garrison, Co-founder, Garrison Brothers.
“We would first of all like to give many thanks to Garrison Brothers Distillery for such a great donation, have them in our coverage area is a blessing because of how much they support the community. We will be using the donation from them to pay off our newest rescue truck that was needed to help service our community, not sure what we would do without the great donors like Garrison Brothers,” shares Ray Bible, President of Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department.
“We are in the process of building a unique tanker that will enable us to get water closer to the brush trucks fighting grass fires, thus reducing the turnaround time of refilling the brush trucks. This donation from Garrison Brothers will go toward that truck build which in turn will free up funds for us to use toward swift water training and equipment,” adds Hartley Clay, President, Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department.
