Ben Cotton

Fire Battalion Chief
Ben has been with the Abilene Fire Department since 2009. He has tested and promoted through the ranks and now serves as Battalion Chief. He values leadership, fitness, continued education, and proper procedure. But above all this, he values his fellow firefighters. He goes above and beyond to have a personal relationship with each member of his shift, striving to create and maintain the camaraderie that fire departments are known for. He has written and implemented programs and procedures that the Abilene Fire Department will benefit from for years to come. First responders are never truly “off duty”. Their heads are always on a swivel in every environment, activity or room they enter. Always at ready to serve where needed. They carry a weight the rest of us will never truly understand. And we are so thankful they willing do so. Ben is respected in the community, and is a part of a wonderful group of entrepreneurs that meet regularly to encourage each other and offer accountability. These men are heroes as well, true friends. Ben is a dedicated husband and father, raising two young men to carry on these same values. His faith in the Lord is strong and you won’t find a more loyal friend, ready and willing to be there when needed. We are just so proud of him and the way he leads our family, department and community.
