Army
I would like to nominate my father, a proud 20-year United States Army veteran who served honorably in Air Defense Artillery. Throughout his military career, he exemplified discipline, leadership, and unwavering commitment to his country. As a military family, we understood the sacrifices that came with his service deployments, relocations, time away from home, and the many moments he missed so that others could feel safe. Yet he never complained. He carried his responsibilities with quiet strength and a deep sense of duty, always placing service above self. His career was one we were incredibly proud to be part of. He not only protected our nation, but he built a legacy of integrity, perseverance, and honor within our family. Today, he is facing a new and deeply personal battle: cancer. Even in this fight, he approaches each day with the same courage and resilience that defined his time in uniform. He remains steady, faithful, and determined choosing hope over fear and strength over discouragement. My father has spent his life answering the call to serve, his country, his community, and his family. The sacrifices he made over 20 years shaped who we are and taught us what true dedication looks like. He is not only a veteran. He is a leader, a fighter, and our hero. –
