Jason Malina

Coach
I am submitting this nomination to recognize an individual whose impact on our youth football program goes far beyond the expectations of a typical volunteer. While many contribute in meaningful ways, this person consistently operates at a level that holds the entire organization together. Despite not having any children currently participating in the league, he dedicates an extraordinary amount of his personal time and energy to ensuring the program runs smoothly. He serves not only as a coach, but as the operational backbone of the league; taking on responsibilities that most would never see, let alone volunteer for. His contributions include organizing and managing game schedules, coordinating logistics, leading meetings, and overseeing both setup and breakdown for events. He attends and manages all player sign-ups, ensuring families are informed and the registration process runs efficiently. In addition, he takes full ownership of concessions including personally cooking homemade food, organizing operations, and making sure every game day is well supported and welcoming for families. What makes his contribution exceptional is not just the volume of work, but the standard at which he performs it. He is reliable, organized, and proactive. Solving problems before they escalate and stepping in wherever there is a gap. He does not wait to be asked; he anticipates needs and acts. As a coach, he sets a strong example for the players, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and accountability. His influence extends beyond the field, shaping not just athletes, but young individuals learning structure and responsibility. In short, this is someone who has chosen to invest in the community without any personal obligation to do so. That level of voluntary commitment is rare, and it deserves to be recognized. For these reasons, I strongly recommend him for this nomination. His work is not just valuable, it is essential.
