Jeffrey Jordan

Sargeant @ Hays County Sheriff's Office & U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
It is important to lead with the fact that 200-500 words are insufficient to adequately cover all Jeff does for the Community but I will do my best… Hays County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jeff Jordan has been a force in the Community since before we met in 2011. I first met Jeff while he was with HCSO Community Outreach leading the Citizens Sheriff’s Academy, the 12 week Academy for Hays County residents which introduces and explains the operations of the Sheriff’s Office. Jeff developed / presented the curriculum, arranged for speakers, coordinated field trips / demonstrations and generally provide an informed look into the daily operations and responsibilities of the HCSO. The course was so interesting I attended the Advanced Academy which he subsequently developed in 2012 as a new course. It provided more detailed insight along with the opportunity to participate in activities and training that provides first-hand experience as to what HCSO Deputies face in the field. Jeff also served as the liaison for the Hays County Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association (HCCSAAA) which continued the mission of education and outreach to the graduates of the HCSO CSA courses. During that same period, Jeff was also actively involved in the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Brown Santa program which delivers Christmas Gifts and Food to families in Hays County who might not otherwise have a reason to celebrate or enjoy the holiday. With the retirement of Lt. Dennis Gutierrez, the program’s founder and leader for 33 years, Jeff took over the reigns and has lead it to its greatest seasons in distributing Joy, serving almost 600 families and over 1500 children in 2025. In 2021, Jeff was recruited by then HCSO Sheriff Gary Cutler to become the Executive Director / HCSO Liaison for the Hays County Crime Stoppers program. In this role, he has showed such exceptional drive and leadership that he has since been appointed to the Texas Crime Stoppers Council by Gov. Greg Abbott, the State Boady which oversees the Crime Stoppers programs. And Jeff does all this in support of his Community while also being a beloved husband and father to three beautiful girls, as well as a valued friend to many, including myself. I continue to serve on the HCCSAAA, volunteer with HCSO Brown Santa as Technology Leader / Advisor / Elf and have been the Chair of Hays County Crime Stoppers since 2024, all roles which were a direct result of Jeff’s example, influence and refusal to take “No” for an answer when he asked me to serve alongside him. This is but a brief glimpse into all that he does for the Community. In summary, Jeff is a true leader and supporter of the Community, a shining example of how one person can make a difference. I have followed his lead into many missions and anticipate there are even more to come. You will be hard pressed to find someone who gives more of himself to the Community than HCSO Sgt. Jeff Jordan.
