John Crawson

John served in the army for 16 years. He served 2 tours, one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. While serving in Afghanistan, while building a road to move infantry troops further, their unit came under attack with rpg’s and small fire. John was blown into a field and shot. He was rushed to the hospital, endured 5 surgies. He has since recovered, served 7 more years, received his purple heart and bronze star. The picture listed is of him and our daughter Lily Mae at her father daughter dance in 2015. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 10 from a brain eating amoeba that she contracted from swimming in the Brazos river. Through everything life has thrown at John. He is the first person to drop everything for someone in need, lend a helping hand, or be a shoulder to cry on. And he does it with his head held high, a small on his face and his arms wide open.
