Lee Schiel

Marine Corps Veteran / Scientist / Entrepreneur
My husband Lee is a disruptor in the field of medicine and science, including two Nobel Prize nominations. One of three sets of twins, Tennis provided him the opportunity to pursue a college degree through a full scholarship despite being dyslexic, graduating from Chapman University. Lee became a pro tennis player in his early twenties, was granted a Marine Corps aviation contract at the age of 26, and became a general contractor in his 30s. A cancer misdiagnosis in the early 1990s led him into the field of medicine in search of new methods for early diagnosis of disease and injuries. During his recovery, he was given the opportunity to validate the authenticity of a clutch of dinosaur eggs, and through CT scanning made the greatest discovery of the 20th century in the field of Paleontology of dinosaur embryos within the eggs. This discovery led Lee to working at NASA and JPL on the Mars rovers, only to cross over again to medicine. He was asked to provide the imaging with his newly created software for the successful separation of the Guatemalan conjoined twins surgery at UCLA in 2002. Through the next two decades, he has been able to provide answers for some of the most difficult medical cases in the field of pediatric urology. His work is published in JAMA and other medical publications. Lee was to continue his work here in the great state of Texas until a catastrophic truck accident rendered him an incomplete quadriplegic 6 years ago. He has continued to progress in his physical abilities, including the ability to walk again. Through his unwavering perseverance, he is back on track to continue his life’s work in MRI imaging to help all who are in need of diagnostics. His amazing positivity inspires all who meet him, and I thank God everyday for Lee, the love of my life.
