Garrison Brothers Distillery Co-Founder Nancy Garrison Named Co-Chief Executive Officer

Celebrating 20 years as a Family-Owned Texas Whiskey Pioneer, the Company Enters its Next Chapter of Leadership

AUSTIN, Texas (September 17, 2026) — Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas, today announced that co-founder Nancy Garrison has been named co-chief executive officer. In the expanded role, Nancy will serve alongside Dan Garrison and help guide the company’s strategy, operations, sales, marketing, finance and long-term growth as the family-owned brand enters its next chapter.

“Garrison Brothers has always been a family business built on heart, grit, and a deep love for Texas bourbon,” Nancy Garrison said. “As we celebrate 20 years, I am honored to step into this expanded role and help lead the company into its next chapter alongside Dan and our incredible team.”

Nancy and her husband, Dan, founded Garrison Brothers Distillery in 2006 in Hye, Texas. Their first bottled bourbon entered the market in 2010. As co-founder, Nancy has played an active role in day-to-day operations, sales and marketing. She regularly hosts bourbon dinners and special events across the country, works closely with sales and marketing teams, calls on accounts, leads tastings and has influenced several of the brand’s most beloved expressions, including HoneyDew, Lady Bird and Sonora.

“Nancy’s leadership, relationships and commitment to our mission have helped shape the brand we are today, and this next step reflects the role she has long played in our growth,” said Dan Garrison, Garrison Brothers Distillery.

Affectionately called the Queen Bee of Garrison Brothers, Nancy is a fourth generation Austinite. Her family is well known in town for their success in retail and real estate with Scarbroughs Department Stores. Growing up in the family business, Nancy has spent most of her life and career in textiles, marketing, and sales. She attended University of Texas at Austin, Moody College of Communications and earned a B.S. in Communications. Nancy served as Scarbroughs President for 15 years until 2009, when the family closed all stores after over 100 years in business.

As Garrison Brothers celebrates 20 years of family ownership, Texas craftsmanship and bourbon innovation, Nancy’s new role marks a meaningful next step for the company as it continues to grow its national presence while staying rooted in the Hill Country values that shaped the brand from the beginning.
