About the Mint Julep Apple & Brussels Sprout Salad
The mint julep, turned into a salad. Shaved Brussels sprouts are tossed in a sweet-tart vinaigrette of Garrison Brothers Small Batch, cider vinegar and fresh mint, then piled with bacon, blue cheese, crisp Granny Smith apple and toasted pecans. Crunchy, salty, sweet and bright.
How do I shave Brussels sprouts?
Trim the ends and slice them as thin as you can with a sharp knife or mandoline, or use the slicing disc of a food processor.
How long does the vinaigrette keep?
About a week in the fridge. It makes more than one salad needs, so it's ready for the next one. Shake it before using.
What cocktail goes with this salad?
Our Come and Take It: 1½ oz Garrison Brothers Small Batch, ¾ oz Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, ¾ oz Grand Marnier and 2 dashes of aromatic bitters, stirred.
