About the New Fashioned Highball
An Old Fashioned, stretched tall. Garrison Brothers bourbon, a barspoon of demerara syrup and a dash of Angostura get stirred right in the glass, then topped with soda water for a crisp, easy-drinking highball. Every flavor of the classic, built for a hot afternoon.
How is it different from an Old Fashioned?
Same bourbon, sugar and bitters, but served tall over ice and topped with soda water. It's lighter, fizzier and made for warm weather.
What is demerara syrup?
A simple syrup made with demerara sugar, a raw cane sugar with a light molasses flavor. Stir 1 cup of demerara sugar into 1 cup of hot water until it dissolves, then let it cool.
Should I use Small Batch or HoneyDew?
Small Batch makes it bolder and spicier at 94 proof. HoneyDew, infused with Texas wildflower honey, makes it softer and a little sweeter.
