About the Bourbon Bacon Butter Mashed Potatoes
Bourbon bacon butter mashed potatoes, loaded for the holidays. Russets are mashed smooth, then folded with heavy cream and butter simmered with Garrison Brothers Small Batch, plus crispy bacon, garlic and parsley. The bourbon adds a warm, caramel note that makes these taste like more than the sum of their butter.
Will the mashed potatoes taste like bourbon?
Just a little. Simmering the bourbon with the cream softens it into a warm, caramel-vanilla note behind the bacon and garlic.
Can I make them ahead?
Yes. Make them up to two days ahead, then reheat covered at 350°F with a splash of cream, stirring halfway.
What potatoes work best?
Russets make the fluffiest mash. Yukon Golds make it creamier and a little denser.
